<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the device small in size, to increase the culturing effect of microorganisms and to enable automatic operation by forming a spherical bottom of a reaction tank of the culturing device, providing two series of aerating mechanism and producing circulating convection which flows downward through the space between the cylindrical sidewall of a microorganism carrier housing unit and the inner wall of the reaction tank. SOLUTION: The bottom of the reaction tank 3 of the culturing device 1 is formed into spherical. Aerating mechanisms 9 are provided in two series of a diffusing tube 7a which produces small bubbles and a diffusing tube 7b for both of agitation and replenishing. The diffusing tube 7b for agitation and replenishing disposed at the lower position ejects bubbles down, which agitate and raise the sludge soln. sedimenting onto the spherical bottom. The diffusing tube 7a producing small bubbles disposed at the upper position ejects small bubbles, which products an upward flow passing through the microorganism carrier housing unit 6 to induce an upward flow of the sludge soln. and to cause the convection flowing downward to the lower bottom of the reaction tank 3. Thereby, the contact efficiency between the microorganism carrier housing unit 6 and the sludge soln. is increased and bacterial and microorganisms can be efficiently cultured and grown.</p> |
