PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease an amt. of a gaseous coolant escaping to the environment from a cooling chamber and to reduce a production cost by maintaining the flow of the gaseous coolant into the cooling chamber constant and controlling the amt. of the coolant to be sucked. SOLUTION: An amt. of used helium to be sucked from a cooling chamber 2 is controlled by the amt. of the fresh helium to be introduced into the chamber 2. The speed of a blower C is increased by the intermittent or stable signal from a gas flow controller B sent to the speed control mechanism of the blower C with an increase in the amt. of the helium to be introduced into the cooling chamber 2. The speed of the blower C is preferably controlled in response with a change in the pressure in the cooling chamber 2. The gas flow controller B maintains the flow rate of the helium into the chamber 2 substantially constant. During the period, the speed of the blower C is controlled by the pressure in the chamber 2 through a control loop 30. A pressure sensor 32 continuously and periodically monitors the pressure in the chamber 2 via a detection loop 30. |
