PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new cyclohexane benzyl ether compound useful as an agrochemical, especially a herbicide, and capable of being used, for example, by a treating method such as a soil treatment or a soil-mixing treatment. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I (R1, R2 are each H, F, Cl or methyl; R3 is a group of formula II), for example, 2-venzyloxy-1-methyl-4-(2- trifluoromethylphenyl)-7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]heptane. The above compound is obtained by reacting anα,β-unsaturated cyclic ketone compound of formula III as a starting raw material with an oxidizing agent, reducing the ketone of the obtained compound with a reducing agent, and subsequently reacting the obtained cyclic alcohol compound with a benzyl halide compound, a benzyl alcohol compound or a benzyl alcohol sulfonate ester.
