PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of remarkably suppressing a rise in viscosity at the time of preservation without deteriorating instantaneous adhesion for a long period by including a rare earth element salt of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. SOLUTION: This composition contains a trihalogenalkanesulfonic salt, e.g. scandium tirfluoromethanesulfonate and ytterbium trifluoromethanesulfonate hydrate. Furthermore, e.g. the sulfonic salt is contained in an amount so as to provide 0.001 wt.ppm to 5 wt.% thereof based on a 2-cyanoacrylate and the composition is especially effective for a 1-4C alkyl 2-cyanoacrylate in the 2-cyanoacrylate. Furthermore, a radical polymerization stabilizer such as hydroquinone or a thickener such as polymethyl methacrylate may be contained therein.
