PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cold-curing one-pack type epoxy resin coating composition having excellent stability, mild for environment and coating operator and useful, e.g. as a primer for the surface of iron part of a bridge, etc. by using an epoxy resin having a specific structure and a ketimine. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) an alkylphenol novolak epoxy resin soluble in mineral spirit, (B) a ketimine of formula I (R1 to R4 each H, a 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; R5 is an alkyl or phenyl having OH group; Y1 and Y2 are each a 2-6C alkylene, an aromatic ring or the like; and (n) is 0-2) and (C) a dehydration agent of formula III (R is H or methyl). The ratio of the component A to the component B is adjusted to give 0.5-1.0 equivalent of active hydrogen of the ketimine based on 1 equivalent of the epoxy group in the epoxy resin and the amount of the component C is >=10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component B.
