<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thin lightweight ethylenic polymer comprising ethylene homopolymer or an ethylene.α-olefin copolymer, having a narrow thickness distribution, excellent profitability, high rigidity and excellent mechanical characteristics, and useful for fuel tanks or the like. SOLUTION: This ethylenic polymer comprises ethylene homopolymer or an ethylenic copolymer which comprises ethylene and a 3-20Cα-olefin and has anα-olefin content of <=10 wt.%. The ethylenic polymer has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 2-6 (dl/g), a density of 0.945-0.970 (g/cm3), a zero shear viscosityη0 of 2×107 to 3×108 (poise), and an R value of 2.5-4 (R is defined by the equation: R=ρ2/ρ1 (ρ1 andρ2 are each as an extension stress at strain quantities of 2 sec and 4 sec, respectively, under an extension strain rateεof 0.5 sec-1). The polymer is obtained by a polymerization using a solid catalyst component and an organic aluminum compound as a catalyst.</p> |
