PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration isolation device capable of surely bearing verticle load of a structure and, at the same time, also coping with low shear modulus without variation caused by creep. SOLUTION: This vibration isolation device is so constituted that a sliding bearing body 3 of a metal material having high corrosion proof force is provided between bearing plates 1a and 2a of an upper structure 1 of building, etc., and a lower structure 2 of concrete foundation, etc., and that restoring members 4 of belt-shaped rubber elastic bodies connecting the bearing plats 1a and 2a of the upper structure 1 and lower structure 2 are arranged around the sliding bearing body 3. A sliding member 5 such as stainless steel, etc., of the metal material having high corrosion proof force is provided to the bearing plate 1a of the upper structure 1a, and a sliding member 6 of a metal plate baking fluororesin such as teflon resin, etc., on the surface in advance is provided to a sliding surface on the upper surface of the sliding bearing body 3.
