PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deviation of road holding pressure applied to each tread road holding portion when side force acts thereon, improve grip performance during cornering, and suppressing deviated abrasion. SOLUTION: The tread portion of a pneumatic radial tire is provided with a thin tread 30 between lag treads therealong such that each tread road holding portion 26 is divided into a separate road holding portions 26C and 26D. A radius of curvature R5 of the tread road holding portion 26 in the circumferential direction of tire is set to, for example, 315 mm. On the ground surface of each separate road holding portion 26C, 26D has the respective radius of curvature R6 in the circumferential direction of tire. Preferably the radius of curvature R6 in the circumferential direction of tire is set such that the difference of height in the radial direction of tire between the center portion and edge portion of the road holding surface of the respective separate road holding portions 26C, 26D ranges from 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm. For example, the radius of curvature may be set to 80 mm. |
