PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion detector for groove rollers of wire saws that detects abrasion of groove rollers reliably. SOLUTION: When a groove roller 18A abrades off to its limit diameter for use (r), a wire 14 is brought into contact with a contact detection bar 54A. Since a constant voltage is applied to the wire 14, the contact causes an electric current to flow instantaneously through the contact detection bar 54A that has been insulated. On detecting this electric current, a controller determines that the groove roller 18A is abraded. |
