ETHYLENIC COPOLYMER, ITS PRODUCTION, AND RESIN COMPOSITION, MOLDED PRODUCT AND LUBRICANT CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject copolymer consisting of ethylene and anα-olefin, useful as a modifying agent for resins and a lubricant component having excellent viscosity index and pour point and contained in a resin composition having excellent flexibility, transparency, low temperature shock resistance and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: This copolymer is such one as to satisfy (1) the equations 1<=α<55 ([EAE]/[EAA])/[(100-α)/α]>1.0 and l<=α<55 wherein [EAE] and [EAA] are triad chain distribution, as measured by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, of (E) ethylene and (A) anα-olefin andαis theα-olefin content (mol.%) as measured by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum, and (2) [η]as 0.01-20 (dl/g) whereinηis the ultimate viscosity measured at 135 deg.C after dissolving in decalin. It is preferable that the ratio of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) of this copolymer satisfies the relation 2.1
