PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a game machine to satisfactorily adapt to diversification of the form of a prize ball tank, to accurately detect game balls flowing in plural lines covering all, and to always retain a certain optimum number of balls in a prize ball tank. SOLUTION: A game ball detector 10 detects game balls in a prize ball tank 1 of a game machine. The game ball detector 10 has a detector body 11 which is placed in the prize ball tank 1 along its width direction, a body mounting part 12 which is placed at one end of the detector body 11 and detachably sets the detector body 11 on a side wall 1a, a side wall press fitting part 13 which expandably protrudes from the other end of the detector body 11 and press-fits to the other side wall 1b of the prize ball tank 1, a movable piece 14 which is placed on one side wall side of the detector body 11 and moves when pushed by game balls stored in the prize ball tank 1, and a switch 15 which is placed inside the detector body 11 and operates on/off by the movable piece 14.
