PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor formed in a small size at low cost and not scattering lubricating oil. SOLUTION: A dynamic pressure gas radial bearing 8 opposed to an inner ring 8b of radial shaft unit fixed to a bracket 1 and an outer ring 8a of radial bearing unit fixed to a housing 4 in a rotational diametric direction of the housing 4 and a dynamic pressure gas thrust bearing opposing a thrust receiving surface 8c of thrust shaft unit formed in an upper surface of the inner ring 8b fixed to the bracket 1 and a thrust plate 10 of thrust bearing unit fixed to the housing 4 in a rotary shaft direction of the housing 4 are provided, in this constitution, an opposed surface of the thrust receiving surface 8c and the thrust plate 10 of the dynamic pressure gas thrust bearing is arranged in a bearing function dimensional region L of the dynamic pressure gas radial bearing 8.
