<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover effectively metal components contained in powdery dust and waste toner by mixing powdery dust containing heavy metals with waste toner powder and then compression molding the a mixture by the friction heat generated at the time of the compression to granulate the mixture into the pellet shape and feeding the granular pellets as a raw material into a metal melting furnace. SOLUTION: Powder dust and waste toner powder are mixed together by a pipe conveyor 4 and fed into a screw compression type granulating device 5 and subjected to volume reduction compressed by a screw 5b. As friction heat is generated among powder particles and the temperature in a cylinder barrel 5b with the built-in screw 5b is raised to approximately 80-120 deg.C, heat melted binder contained in the waste toner powder in melted and the powder dust containing heavy metals and the waste toner powder are formed into a pellet-shape and discharged out of a die to manufacture a pellet-shaped granulated matter of high mechanical strength by heat dissipation. Granulated pellets thus formed are introduced as a raw material into a metal melting furnace such as a cupola.</p> |
