PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high lift work device which is high in the setting freedom of a leaning position of a ladder and realizes the stability and safety of the device even in the case where obstacles such as an air conditioner or a tree exist near a building wall in a high lift work device to lean a bearing member consisting of two ladders against the building wall for providing a working scaffold on the upper spot of the bearing member. SOLUTION: This high lift work device is equipped with cross pipes 6 mutually connected at a middle hinge connecting point 8 and a fixing member 5 which fittedly provides a connecting pipe 7 settable in a protrusive length at each end of the cross pipe 6 and has a lock handle for locking the protrusive length of the connecting pipe 7, and the device varies a span S between ladders 2A, 2B and adapts the ladders to their various leaning attitudes due to a difference in level between the earthing points of the ladders to set the fixing member 5, in a crossed state for connectedly mutually locking them between the ladders 2A, 2B, and the leaning attitudes of the ladders 2A, 2B are thereby mechanically fixed.
