PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly carry an object to be carried in an upright state by a non-contact state without being damaged by placing a platelike object to be carried in the upright state at the center, injecting gas from both the sides and carrying the object while maintaining the upright state. SOLUTION: A belt conveyor 3a is provided with an annular groove 6a on a carrier surface of a belt. At an opening part of a box-shaped frame 8, a porous body 9 is provided, and guides 5a, 5b capable of jetting pressurized air supplied to the frame 8 via pipings 10a, 10b from the porous body 9 by the same pressure are fixed to a fixing side 18 via a bracket 16 and a holder 16. On the upper side of the belt conveyor 3a and on the halfway of a carrier path, a belt conveyor 3b provided with an annular groove 6b on a carrier surface is provided. A platelike object 1 is carried by supporting the upper and lower sides of the object 1 by the belt conveyors 3a, 3b up to the halfway of the carrier path. Even if the platelike object 1 is away from the belt conveyor 3b, the platelike object 1 can be carried at its stably upright attitude without contacting with the guides 5a, 5b by air flow from the guides 5a, 5b.
