METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREPARING CARBON MONOXIDE WITH HIGH PURITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for preparing CO with a high purity by which only H2 can be perfectly separated from a mixed gas such as a synthetic gas contg. H2 and CO as main ingredients and CO with a high purity of at least 99 vol.% can be obtd. without recycling process. SOLUTION: The method for preparing CO by separating and purifying CO by using a gas separating membrane from a mixed gas contg. H2 and CO as main ingredients is provided and as the gas separating membrane, a metal membrane with H2 selective permeability is used. The apparatus for preparing CO is provided with a container 2 into which the mixed gas is introduced, a sweep gas flow path 4 which is disposed on the inside of the container 2 and is formed so as to be separated from the mixed gas in the container 2 with a metal membrane 1 with H2 selective permeability and makes an O2-contg. gas flow so as to make it to be a counter flow to the flow of the mixed gas on the permeation side of the metal membrane 1, an inlet part 6 for feeding the mixed gas into the container 2 and an outlet part 8 for taking out CO gas separated and purified from the mixed gas from the container.
