PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a shift stage adapted to a road condition even if a driver have forgotten a selecting shift stage by informing a shift information of a shift stage selected by a speed selecting member, and a shift stage in which shift deciding means have decided on the basis of a vehicle traveling condition, by voice. SOLUTION: A vehicle control device is provided with a shift lever 48 as a shift member for selecting a shift stage of a manual shift operation on the basis of an operation of a driver, and a shift stage deciding means 101 for deciding a shift stage on the basis of at least a traveling condition of the vehicle. On the basis of at least one of selection of the shift stage by the shift lever 48 and decision of a shift stage by the shift stage deciding means 101, a voice information is generated from a voice output unit 37 to inform a shift information to the driver. Even if the driver have forgotten the shift stage which is selected by the driver at present, the shift stage adapted to the road condition can be selected on the basis of the shift information.
