PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN-NITROGEN GASEOUS MIXTURE AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high purity hydrogen-nitrogen gaseous mixture at a low cost on a size by producing an endothermic gas using a hydrocarbon as a raw material and bringing the endothermic gas to contact with an adsorbent which preferentially adsorbs gases except hydrogen and nitrogen therein. SOLUTION: Hydrocarbon from a hydrocarbon feed line 1 and purified air from an air feed line 3 are mixed with each other in a prescribed ratio and are sent to an endothermic gas generating device 5. A gas obtained and cooled therein consists essentially of hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon monoxide and contains a small quantity of the other gaseous components. The gas is sent to a PSA gas separation device 7 composed of plural adsorption columns. The adsorbent which preferentially adsorbs plural gases except hydrogen and nitrogen is packed in each adsorption column and the adsorption and the desorption are performed in a prescribed cycle through an automatic switching valve. The hydrogen-nitrogen gaseous mixture discharged from the PSA gas separation device 7 is stored once in a gas storage tank 9 and is supplied to each use place 11.
