<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust an intake air quantity to be sucked and an intake speed and to stabilize an extremely lean burning by letting a valve opening timing, valve opening time, and lift quantity calculating means calculate the valve opening timing and/or a valve opening lift quantity according to a target air-fuel ratio calculated by a target air-fuel ratio calculating means. SOLUTION: A target air-fuel ratio calculating means 141 calculates an air-fuel ratio according to the operation state decided by an engine rotation speed and accelerator opening, an idle maintenance air quantity calculating means 142 calculates a necessary air quantity from the engine output demand, and a demand air quantity calculating means 143 adds them up. A cumulative swirl number calculating means 147 calculates the result of a target air-fuel ratio difference calculating means 144 compensated by an engine cooling water temperature and the cumulative number of 1-suction cycle of the swirl number required by the demand intake air quantity. The valve opening timing, valve opening time, and lift calculating means 147 of the intake valve calculates the valve opening timing, valve opening time, and valve opening lift of the intake valve based on the cumulative swirl number and control blocks 148-150 calculates electric signals.</p> |
