摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the cold hesitation in a burning condition detecting device based on the ion current by determining the burning condition on the basis of an ion current value detected at the time of operating a throttle and an ion current representative value stored in a before-operation condition memory means. SOLUTION: When air-fuel mixture inside of a combustion chamber 8 is ignited for combustion by the spark discharge of an ignition plug 50, the air-fuel mixture is ionized, and the iron current is flowed in the condition that the air-fuel mixture is ionized. In the case of detecting a cold hesitation with an ECU 90, a peak value of the output voltage of an ion current detecting circuit 110 is detected as the ion output, and the ion output before operating a throttle is stored, and a value obtained by multiplying that ion output with the predetermined coefficient is used as a determination reference value. During the operation of throttle, frequency of the generation of combustion lower than the determination reference value (frequency of accidental fire) is computed, and the cold hesitation is thereby detected.
