PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a waste gas treatment catalyst which purifies waste gas discharged from various incinerators such as a municipal garbage incinerator, an industrial waste incinerator and a sludge incinerator. SOLUTION: The catalyst consists of a titanium oxide carrier and a catalyst component contg. at least one selected from the group consisting of oxides of V, W, Mo, Nb, Ta, a mixture of two or more of these metallic elements and a solid soln. of two or more of these metallic elements and has an acid strength (H0) of weaker than -5.6 (H0>=-5.6). The objective apparatus for treating waste gas using the catalyst consists of a dust remover 12 in which dust in waste gas 11 discharged from an incinerator is removed and a catalytic device 13 in which harmful substances such as NOx, dioxins and arom. hydrocarbons having a high condensation degree are removed. |
