PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier-fluidized bed type sepatic tank being hardly affected by sludge generated in the tank. SOLUTION: In this sepatic tank provided with a carrier fluidization vessel E1, a carrier dam G for allowing water to be treated to flow through the carrier dam G to its outside and also preventing a carrier C from flowing through the carrier dam G to its outside, is placed within the carrier fluidization vessel E1, wherein the carrier C is received on the side above the carrier dam G and the water is allowed to flow from the side above the carrier dam G to the downstream side. In this carrier fluidization vessel E1, a first fluidization state in which the carrier C is fluidized so as to form on the side above the carrier dam G, a fluidization section G1 where the carrier is fluidized, and a deposition section G2 where the carrier C is deposited on the carrier dam G and the water is filtered through the carrier dam G, and a second fluidization state in which the carrier is fluidized so as not to form the deposition section G2, are alternately switched from each other.
