PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grain stone surface material in a grain stone finishing technique for covering the surface of a structure with grain stones including cobble stones or crushed stones, capable of avoiding processes of washing finish for easy construction, increasing the rate of occupying the surface with cobble stones or crushed stones exposed to a decorative surface and embedding almost no cobble stone or crushed stones under a finished surface. SOLUTION: In a grain stone finishing surface material, grain stones 2, 2... including cobble stones and crushed stones different in size are arranged in a single layer on one face of a net backing cloth 1 with synthetic resin or natural fiber strings braided or woven in a net form so as to be firmly affixed integrated therewith. In this case, most of grain stones are arranged in the direction of increasing the visual angles (solid angles drawn by tangent lines connecting the contours of grain stones and one point thereof in viewing the grain stones from one outside point) of the grin stones and the net backing cloth is bent to almost match the upper end levels of the grain stones 2, 2... to one another so that the apparent density of the grain stones exposed to the surface of a grain stone fishing surface backing can be made greater after construction.
