PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a transmitting capacity and durability of a metal belt by restricting a contact ratio obtained by dividing a right and left direction width of a saddle surface by a right and left direction width of a metal ring to an upper limit and lower limit. SOLUTION: A right and left direction width Ws of a saddle surface 39 of a metal element 32 is set to be not more than a right and left direction width Wr of a metal ring aggregated body 31, and a right and left direction inner end of the metal ring aggregated body 31 is overhung to a neck part 38 side from the right and left direction inner end of the saddle surface 39. A value obtained by dividing a right and left direction width Ws of the saddle surface 39 by a right and left direction width Wr of the metal ring aggregated body 31 is defined as a contact ratio (Ws/Wr<=100%). In this time, an upper limit within a suitable contact ratio is such a contact ratio that a transmitting capacity change rate is diverted from a negative value to a positive value, a lower limit is a contact ratio capable of realizing taking a misalignment into consideration, and a reliable contact ratio is set to a range between the upper limit and the lower limit. It is thus possible to reduce the transmitting capacity, and it is also possible to prevent reduction of durability.
