PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the construction method of an underground structure, by which a large-sectional tunnel can be constructed extremely efficiently and economically. SOLUTION: A preceding tunnel 1 formed in a rectangular sectional shape in the direction of excavation is excavated while lining four circumferences with a lining body, a succeeding tunnel 2 formed in the rectangular sectional shape in the direction of excavation is excavated while lining three circumferences excepting side sections on the preceding tunnel 1 side on one side section of the preceding tunnel 1, and the side-section lining body 1c of the preceding tunnel 1 partitioning the preceding tunnel 1 and the succeeding tunnel 2 is removed.
