METAL/ORGANIC POLYMER COMPOSITE STRUCTURE AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for controlling the position in which metal ultrafine particles are introduced in a polymer phase of a metal/organic polymer composite structure, so that the structure suits the use wherein an anisotropy in physical properties is required. SOLUTION: The titled structure comprising a micro phase-separation structure of a block copolymer, wherein two or more mutually incompatible polymer chains are linked at their ends, is prepared by using, as a metal affinity polymer chain in the block copolymer composing the metal/polymer complex, a polymer having a molecular weight larger (preferably at least 3 times larger) than the polymer chain consisting of the metal-containing phase when selectively allowing one of the polymer phases to contain metal ultrafine particles around its center.
