PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave power type sea water changing breakwater taking effective use of incoming wave energy and capable of impeding specified surmount waves. SOLUTION: This sea water changing type breakwater is provided with a float bulb 24 floating in sea water in a float chamber 23 inside a case body 2 in the state of the position of a top part 24a is higher by specified top part height than the sea water level in an internal chamber, and elevated interlockingly with the rise and fall of the sea water level in the internal chamber. Sea water on the open sea side is taken in from a water inlet 25 by a front slant face 24b provided at the upper part of the float bulb 24, to flow into the float chamber 23 and then to flow out to the inland sea side from a water outlet 26.
