PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desk equipped with a top plate and a carrier for it, in which the carrier couples together a plurality of pipe members through a coupling mechanism, wherein arm(s) requiring much labor and cost for fabrication is made common for reduction of the burden in production and complying flexibly with a change, etc., of the desk specifications. SOLUTION: A coupling mechanism 6 is composed of an arm 5 whose base end 5a is fixed to one pipe member 11 and other end stretching out is fitted in another pipe member 21 and a backing member 9 to be inserted in the pipe member 11. A fixing means 7 fixes the arm 5 to the pipe member 11 by pinching the external wall 1a of the pipe member 11 between the arm base end 5a and the backing member 9.
