PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the discomfort of a user who takes a bath after a person previously taking a bath and walks on a mat when the mat provided on the floor of the dressing room of a bathroom is wetted with water of the user previously taking a bath. SOLUTION: On the surface of a base material part 1, first fibers 11 excellent in water absorbability and having a thermal shrinkage characteristic and second fibers 12 with small absorbability and no thermal shrinkage characteristic are mixed and planted. The first fibers 11 are located below the surface of the base material part 1. The second fibers 12 are formed with larger height and located so as to cover the upper part of the surface therewith, so that the feet of a user do not come into direct contact with the first fibers 11 and the water absorbability is not deteriorated.
