PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head, capable of obtaining a high displacement efficiency with a simple constitution and capable of discharging stabilized ink drops by avoiding cross-talk between neighboring liquid chambers, and an ink jet recording device having the ink jet head mounted therein. SOLUTION: A diaphragm layer 4 and a passivation layer 5 are interposed between a bulkhead layer 7, forming the bulkhead of a liquid chamber 6, and an electromechanical transducer element or a piezo-electric element 1, arranged on the bulkhead layer 7 so as to be opposed to the liquid chamber 6. The opposing surfaces of these bulkhead layer 6, passivation layer 5, diaphragm layer 4 and the piezo-electric element 1 are jointed to form a pressure control unit, controlling the internal pressure of the liquid chamber 6, while an ink jet head is constituted of the pressure control units, arranged continuously in parallel in the same direction.
