<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower a space-charge electric field on a surrounding wall face, etc., and to prevent the contamination of a tunnel wall face by providing a charge neutralizer forming a plasma discharge column, in which negative ions and positive ions are present at the same time, in succession to the dust collecting part of an electrostatic precipitator. SOLUTION: The suspended particles introduced from the inflow side A of an electrostatic precipitator 50 are charged in a charging part 1, about 80% of the particles are collected by the collecting part 2, and the remaining 20% of the particles are discharged from the outflow side B of the dust collecting part 2. In this case, the remaining 20% of the particles are inputted to a charge neutralizer 100 consisting of a silent-discharge charging part and forming the positive and negative charges between the parallel electrode plates. The charges are neutralized by the plasma-discharge column by the silent discharge, and a space-charge electric field formed by itself is reduced to zero. Consequently, the driving force toward a wall is weakened, and the deposition of dust on the tunnel wall face, duct and further the main tunnel wall is reduced.</p> |
