PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abrupt advancing of a steering column by inertia force in case of a collision without large alteration of general steering column holding structure and to use mechanism for preventing the abrupt advancing of the steering column, as locking and lock release stopper members. SOLUTION: A curling plate 12 for absorbing the advancing energy of a column shaft 1 by extending is fixedly provided at the side face of a column bracket 4 and pierced with a locking bolt 6. A lever 7 fitted to the locking bolt 6 is provided with a locking stopper claw 15 and a lock release topper claw 16 abutting to the curling plate 12 at the time of locking and releasing lock. |
