PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance heat insulating effect even when a wall material is thin by coating one surface of a wall material main body with heat insulating paint formed from paint prepared by dispersing and mixing a ceramic fine powder reflecting heat rays and a ceramic fine powder having heat insulating effect into a coating film forming agent. SOLUTION: A wall material 1 is constituted by forming a heat insulating paint layer 3 on one surface of a wall material main body 2 made of a slate by using paint prepared by dispersing and mixing a ceramic fine powder reflecting heat rays and a ceramic fine powder having heat insulating effect into a coating film forming agent. That is, since the ceramic fine powder reflecting heat rays is dispersed in the heat insulating paint layer 3 on the surface of the wall material main body 2, the wall material 1 reflects the greater part of heat rays in a room to prevent the leak thereof to the outside. The heat transmitted through the wall material main body 2 is cut off by the heat insulating paint layer 3 and the heat transmitted into the room from the outside can be also prevented.
