PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic rice cooker which prevent boiled over gruel from an inner pot from trickling down through a shutter opening/closing arm, for example, causing erroneous sensing when it flows to a sensor or the like. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes a grains storage part 1, a washing device 2 having a washing means and a rice cooking part 3. The rice cooking part is provided with a shutter opening/closing arm 8 to laterally reciprocate a shutter for opening or closing a receiving port which is provided at a center part of a lid 5 covering an inner pot 4 to receive rice and water and a sponge- like water absorbing body 9 on the shutter opening/closing arm.
