The invention relates to a plank heater for finishing machines. When paving asphalt, the plank of finishing machines has to reach a certain temperature to prevent the asphalt from adhering thereto. According to preart, the plank is heated using a gas, diesel or electric heater. The invention provides that a heating receptacle (2) is filled with a fluid and is rotated by a shaft (3). Discs (4) are provided on the shaft (3) which rotate in the fluid-filled heating receptacle (2). As a result, fluid friction is produced, and heat is generated. In contrast to the friction generated by solid bodies, no wear occurs in this embodiment. |
