PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide automobile stay structure preventing a steering member from moving downward at the time of a head-on collision of a vehicle. SOLUTION: An upper end part 17 of a stay 12 is provided with bolts B. Fitting holes 20, 21 to be pierced with the bolts B are formed in a bracket 14, and slits 22, 23 are formed on the lower side of the fitting holes 20, 21. Accordingly, in the case of downward load being applied to the stay 12, the bolts B are allowed to escape from the fitting holes 20, 21 to the slits 22, 23 to move the stay 12 downward relatively to the bracket 14, so that a steering member is regulated in its downward movement and left as it is in the position.
