PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect car audio systems from theft effectively. SOLUTION: A key data storage CD 18 stores key data peculiar to TOC. When mounted in place about the driver's seat of automobiles, a car audio system 10 executes setting procedures, which demand the key data storage CD 18 be inserted in a CD setting part 14 where the key data are read in a memory, and the user enter a password. The key data storage CD 18 should be stored in place for future unsetting procedures. The unsetting procedures, which needs to be executed when the car audio system 10 is to be dismounted from the driver's seat, demand the key data storage CD 18 be inserted in the CD setting part 14 where the key data are read again, and the user enter the password, both which data and password are checked against the memory contents. Any dismounting of the car audio system 10 via no checks of the unsetting procedures causes alarms to be raised.
