<p>PURPOSE:To inflate an air bag invariably at the optimum position and improve the crew protection performance by providing the air bag inflated vertically to the side wall of a car body or toward a space between a crew and the side wall of the car body in the side section of a seat back faced to the side wall of the car body. CONSTITUTION:An air bag device 5 is stored in the side face of a seat back 3 faced to a side door 6 serving as the side wall of a car body, and an oblong opening 3d is formed on the side face of the seat back 3 faced to this storage portion. A recess 3e for storing an air bag 7 is formed at the side section of a seat base material 3a corresponding to the opening 3d. The air bag 7 is provided integrally with an inflator 8, and the inflator 8 is arranged at the upper position on the slightly rear side of the car body from the center on the side view of the air gab 7. When the air bag 7 is inflated, it is inflated toward the side door 6 side and is also inflated largely to the front side of the car body.</p> |
