PURPOSE: A controlling apparatus of briquette forming machine and method thereof are provided, for solving the problems such as loading and overloading. CONSTITUTION: The briquette forming machine is controlled by controlling the velocity of compression screw and bracket roll instantaneously. The velocity of compression screw is controlled by working the compression screw in the set reference velocity; detecting the current during the working of the screw working motor, comparing the value with the reference value of the working current, and calculating the deviation; and increasing the velocity of the compression screw in amount of the deviation if the current detected is smaller than the reference value. The velocity of bracket roll is controlled by working the bracket roll in the set reference velocity; detecting the current during the working of the bracket roll working motor, and comparing the value with the reference value of the working current; and increasing the velocity of the bracket roll in amount of the deviation between the current of the bracket roll and the reference value if the current of the compression screw working motor is smaller than the reference value, and the sum of the deviation between the current of the bracket roll and the reference value and the deviation between the current of the compression screw and the reference value if the current of the compression screw working motor is greater than the reference value.
