PURPOSE: A phosphor liquid crystal display is to increase the amount of incident lights and to achieve stable image and uniform brightness through the whole screen. CONSTITUTION: A phosphor liquid crystal display comprises a collimator(24), a backlight(34) and an elliptical reflector(32). In the center of the collimator(24), a parabolic reflector(26) containing a reflector(28) is formed. A plurality of backlights(34) which radiate the lights to the reflector(28) are installed in the upper portion of the collimator(24). The elliptical reflector(32) is installed around the backlights(34) and reflects the lights illuminated from the backlights(34). Thereby, the stable image is achieved and the weight and size of liquid crystal display are adjusted according to the size of parabolic reflector without causing color diffusion or stain, as the lights illuminated from the backlights is horizontally incident toward a liquid crystal cell shutter without interference.
