A composition for ensiling fodder contains hexamethylene tetramine and a nitrite, which is preferably sodium nitrites as active ingredients. The composition can either be applied as a dry pulverulent mixture containing hexamethylene tetramine and a nitrite in a ratio of 9:1 to 1:3 or dissolved in water and sprayed on to the fodder, 0.1-1.0% by weight of the mixture being added to the fodder. This composition can be used for ensiling green fodder, potatoes and beet pulp, and fodder based on animal materials such as offals. |
