STRIP INLET POSITION CORRECTING DEVICE FOR VERTICAL FURNACE

PURPOSE: A device for correcting the inlet position of a strip into a vertical furnace is provided to automatically correct the inlet position of a deflected strip, thereby preventing an accident caused by conflict of the strip with the entrance of the furnace and reducing deterioration of the strip quality. CONSTITUTION: The device for correcting the inlet position of a cold rolled strip(S) into a vertical furnace(200) comprises:a base(10) provided under an entrance(250) of the vertical furnace(200); a conveyor(20) movable in the width direction of the strip(S) over the base(10) for changing the direction of the strip(S); an automatic center regulator(40) provided between the base(10) and the conveyor(20) for centrally positioning the strip(S); a driving cylinder(50) for moving the conveyor(20) to the right and left with respect to the base(10); a position sensor(60) provided at the entrance(250) side of the vertical furnace(200) for generating an electrical signal when the strip(S) is deflected to the one side; and a controller(80) for operating the driving cylinder(50), controlling the position of the conveyor(20) and moving the proceeding center of the strip(S) in the width direction, based on the electrical signal of the position sensor(60).
