The present invention relates to a compression device in connection with x-ray examinations, said device comprising a frame (1) that support means (9; 9') to compress an area of a body of a patient, said area preferably being the abdomen. In connection with x-ray examinations it is important to be able to compress a portion of an examined body of a patient. By such an arrangement the absorbed dose may decrease and a better quality of the x-ray photographs is achieved. The compression device according to the present invention is characterized in that the compression device comprises a fastening means (3), by which the frame (1) of the compression device may be detachably mounted on an examination table (5), and a manually operated displacement mechanism in order to displace the compression device (9) relative to the frame (1) in two opposite directions. |
