PURPOSE: A method and a device are provided to produce an alternating twisted yarn by a simple and cheap method. CONSTITUTION: The alternating twisted yarn is produced by: hanging a yarn(1) in a pulley(2) to make a curved state of a travelling route; travelling the yarn(1) by contacting inside a jaw unit(2a) of the pulley(2) by inclining a shaft(3) of the pulley(2) for the plain travelled the yarn(1). And to twist the yarn(1) in the both sides of the pulley(2) in a reversed direction, and to travel the yarn(1) in a neutral state not to twist the yarn(1) in the both sides of the pulley(2) are alternatively repeated by blocking the contact of the yarn(1) into the inside of the jaw unit(2a) of the pulley(2) by crossing the shaft(3) of the pulley(2) for the plain travelled the yarn(1). Thereby the alternating twisted yarn is produced in a simple structure and at cheap costs.
