PURPOSE: Manufacturing method for mask spring which supports shadow mask in cathode-ray tube and absorbs oscillation is provided. Mask spring failure in absorbing outside vibration like speakers, causes howling problem. A mask spring with high oscillation absorbing ability is provided. CONSTITUTION: Shadow mask is produced through solid solution of stainless steel alloy by heat treatment and corrosion of grain boundary in corrosive liquid. Impurities are precipitated from the grain boundary by the solid solution, the precipitated impurities are removed by the corrosion, and the grain boundary has a fine break, which absorbs oscillation.
