PURPOSE: A thermostat for a heating device and a controlling method thereof are provided to delicately control the flow amount of heating water passing through a heating valve by proportional integral calculus according to the difference of the setting up temperature of indoors from one of outdoors and to maintain the temperature of the indoor regularly. CONSTITUTION: The thermostat for a heating device having a heating valve(100) to control the indoor temperature by controlling the flow of heating water has:an indoor operator(10) outputting a signal be in proportion to the temperature difference to compensate the difference of the real temperature detected via an indoor temperature detecting unit(11) from the temperature set up in an indoor temperature setting up unit(12); and a thermostat(20) integrally calculating the output signal of the indoor operator by an integral calculus circuit(21), adding the integrally calculated signal to the output signal of the indoor operator and outputting a control signal to open and close the heating valve.
