PURPOSE: The present invention relates to a system for and a method of connecting a physical device that does not support Utopia II to an asynchronous transfer mode system that supports Utopia II. CONSTITUTION: The inventive system includes an address decoding part (202) receiving an address from an asynchronous transfer mode system to a Clav demultiplexer; an enable control part (205) selecting a physical device for Utopia I to be transmitted to the next by using the address; a Clav demultiplexer (203) transferring a Clav signal selected by the address decoding part (202) to the asynchronous transfer mode system; and an enable multiplexer (207) transferring an Enb signal to a physical device corresponding to the address.
