PURPOSE: A method capable of recovering information deleted due to requirement and error of a user by performing a backup operation before deleting information registered in a memory of a facsimile and an apparatus therefor are provided. CONSTITUTION: A method for backing up memory information of a facsimile, the method comprising the steps: detecting whether a deleting command to delete information stored in a memory is inputted; backing up information of an object to be deleted when the deleting command is inputted; and deleting the object to be deleted from the memory after performing the backup operation, wherein the object to be deleted is one of system data information, one touch/short number information, transmission/reception journal information, and a transmission reservation information.
