PURPOSE: A pinch roller assembly driving apparatus of headphone stereo cassette is provided to reduce load of a tape and reduce power consumption for playing the tape. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a driving source for converting mode, driving plate selectively driven by the driving source and having a driving portion with stepped cone and pinch roller assembly for pulling the tape in navigation direction by selectively revolving connected with the driving portion of the driving plate. An interference evasion protrusion prevents contact a pinch roller with a capstan axis.
