Disclosed is a dosing device (1) for dosing and/or portioning ground coffee or tea leaves. Said device acts as an accessory device for a coffee maker or tea maker and comprises at least one graduated scale (10) that indicates the number of cups. In order to establish the desired strength or a relatively precise amount of ground coffee or tea leaves required and to enable the accessory to be used in existing coffee machines, a tubular insert (2; 14) is provided and placed on the bottom of a filter (13) that can be filled with ground coffee or tea leaves. The bottom-side opening of the insert is substantially closed by the bottom of the filter (13). At least one graduated scale (10) is arranged on the wall of the insert (2; 14), extending from the bottom edge (5) in the direction of the top edge (9). The graduated scale (10) only allows for enough ground coffee to be placed in the receiving area of the dosing device as required according to the degree of strength and the desired number of cups. The dosing device (1) is subsequently lifted out of the filter (13), whereby the ground coffee is emptied into the filter (13) via the bottom opening (5). |
